Montgomery Fest Parade Grand Marshal Selected

The parade starts at 1 p.m. on Aug. 11.

Susan Volkert, Bank of Montgomery President; James Volkert, Chairman; and Bank of Montgomery employees will be honored as the Grand Marshal of the 2013 Montgomery Fest Parade on Sunday, August 11th in downtown Montgomery.  The Bank of Montgomery has been locally owned and operated in Montgomery for over 40 years.

“On behalf of all of the Bank of Montgomery employees, we are honored to be serving as this year’s Grand Marshal,” said Sue Volkert.  “We thank the community for their support. We’d also like to thank our present and past employees who have contributed to the Bank’s longevity and success over the years.”

James Volkert, Sue’s father, has been with the bank since its inception in 1972, a time when Montgomery had about 3,000 residents compared to almost 19,000 today. “Jim Volkert has been an important member of the Montgomery business community over the years.  He and the bank have the respect and admiration of both community leaders and bank customers,” said Village President Matt Brolley.  “The bank has been in Montgomery as long as many people can remember.”
