Montgomery Leaders Issue "Apprenticeship Week" Proclamation
"Apprenticeships are vital components of talent development," said village president Matthew Brolley.
MONTGOMERY, IL –Across the country, there are more than 585,000 apprentices currently obtaining the skills they need to succeed while earning the wages they need to build financial security, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
Understanding the value that apprenticeships offer, Montgomery village leaders recently proclaimed the week of Nov. 11 as "Apprenticeship Week" in recognition of the National Apprenticeship Week.
Village president Matthew Brolley read the proclamation at a recent board meeting which, in part, reads, “Apprenticeships are vital components of talent development in many high demand and high growth sectors and are recognized as critical post-secondary education training ground for future employment.”

According to village leaders, apprenticeship programs help enhance economic vitality and create a stronger economic environment by producing highly skilled and competitive workers.
The strength and leadership displayed by apprentices results from the dedication and generosity of sponsors, they added. They stressed that on-the-job learning through apprenticeships serves to enhance the economic vitality of the village of Montgomery.
