Boulder Hill Man Charged With Shooting Into The Air: Police

No one was hurt in the incident

The following was published by the Aurora Police Department: "Thomas Lachance, 27, of the 200 block of Fernwood, Montgomery, has been charged with single counts of reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Around 12:45 p.m., Feb. 28, Lachance allegedly followed a car occupied by two people he knew and apparently with whom he had an ongoing dispute: a 34 year old Montgomery man and a 28 year old Aurora woman, as they drove eastbound on Montgomery Road. When they arrived at the intersection of Montgomery and Frontenac, Lachance allegedly pulled the pickup truck he was driving alongside them, and began hollering at them. Lachance then displayed a handgun, held it outside the driver’s side window, shot several rounds into the air, and took off. Nothing was hit and no injuries resulted from the shooting.

Lachance was taken into custody without incident by Aurora Community Policing Officers around 9:45 a.m., April 5, at the DuPage County Courthouse in Wheaton where he had a court date on unrelated charges. He was also served with a failure to appear arrest warrant issued by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department for unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He is currently being held in the DuPage County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail."

While Lachance has a Montgomery address, he lives in Boulder Hill. (Updated 10:30 p.m. CST 4/7/2017)
