Montgomery Tree Lighting 2017

What you need to know about the village of Montgomery Tree Lighting ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 3.

MONTGOMERY, IL - Montgomery's kickoff to the holiday season will be on Sunday with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. A celebration beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3 will move from the outdoors to inside the warmth of Montgomery Village Hall.

The tree lighting will be right in front of the Village Hall at 200 N. River St. Here's some other things village officials would like residents to know before joining them in the celebration.

  • Hosted by the Village of Montgomery and the Greater Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Students from grade schools will decorate the Village Christmas Tree with handmade ornaments
  • Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in fire trucks with sirens blaring
  • Children can visit Santa and take photos inside Village Hall after the lighting
  • Music will be provided by students outside on the Park District's Sound Stage
  • Free hot cocoa and cookies will be provided throughout the evening by the Chamber
  • Parking will be available in lots behind the Village Hall and along Main Street
