New Developments Slated For 2019, Montgomery Officials Say

MONTGOMERY, IL — Officials say 2019 will bring some significant new developments to Montgomery, including opportunities for employment, housing, shopping and dining.

A new Verizon store opened at the end of last year on the east side of Orchard Road next to Fullers Car Wash, while to the south, The Learning Experience is under construction and is expected to open this spring, officials said. A new Dollar Tree is also under construction on Caterpillar Drive. It is also expected to open its doors this spring.

In addition, the new Montgomery Place Apartments complex will begin construction this spring. Earthwork, grading and underground work has already been completed on the project, officials said.

A new McAllister's Deli has also gained approval to move into a three-unit building in Ogden Hill next to Buona Beef. The other two residents have not yet been announced.

"We look forward to announcing other new business development as the year continues," officials said in the village's monthly newsletter.
