Officer Hurt While Pursuing Montgomery Suspect
Police say a shopper returned to an Orchard Road parking lot to find her car missing.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A 20-year-old man was arrested Thanksgiving night after a woman returned to a parking lot in the 2000 block of Orchard Road to find her car gone. Montgomery police said the woman reported her car missing around 11:45 p.m.
Officers who arrived at the scene found the car in the same parking lot but in a different spot from where it had been parked. A man later identified as Benjamin Villalpando Jr. was going through the trunk of the vehicle, according to police.
Villalpando fled as officers approached, leading them on a brief foot chase, according to police. One officer suffered minor injuries in the chase.

Villalpando is charged with felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony burglary, resisting/obstructing an officer and theft of mislaid property. He was booked and processed at the Montgomery Police Department before being taken to the Kendall County jail to await a bond hearing.
