Police Seek Suspect Who Fired Gun At Montgomery Home

Police said the person in the photo knocked on the door, and fired a handgun at the house after the homeowner opened the door.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Montgomery police have released a surveillance photo of a man accused of opening fire on a home in the 2300 block of Patron Lane in the early hours of May 19. Police said the suspect knocked on the door at around 12:04 a.m. When the homeowner opened the door, the suspect displayed a handgun and fired it at the home.

No one was hurt in the shooting, and the suspect fled on foot, police said.

Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect on Wednesday morning. The photo appears to show a bearded man wearing a hooded Nike sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to call Det. Sgt. Jeff Ricedorf at 331-212-9058. Callers can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers can also qualify for a cash reward up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests.
