Two Die In Single-Car Crash In Montgomery

The driver and passenger were found dead on the scene after their vehicle crashed into a tree.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Two young men were found dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Montgomery on Wednesday, after the Pontiac they were in collided with a tree near the intersection of South Orchard Road and Rochester Drive. According to a press release on the incident put out by the Montgomery Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before first responders arrived at the scene around 12:30 a.m. The deceased were identified two Aurora residents: Cameron Walker, aged 19, and Daimaree Raymell, aged 20.

Montgomery Police Chief Phillip Smith said that police suspect the speed of the vehicle was a factor in the young men's crash. The exact cause of death is still under investigation by police and the Kane County Coroner's Office.

"Speed was probably the only factor we can say right now," Smith said. "Other than that, [the coroner's office] is still doing autopsies, so we're going to have to wait for a [toxicology report]."
