The annual Turkey Shoot golf tournament at Naperville Park District’s two golf courses was able to proceed in 2020 with a modified format to limit gathering under current Illinois Tier 3 coronavirus mitigation measures. Registration filled quickly, and 195 players participated in the tournament, which was played at both Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22.

Normally, the event begins with a shotgun start, concluding with a buffet lunch in the clubhouse after the round. This year, each team of five players had a separate tee time reservation which was spaced 10 minutes apart. No inside seating was allowed, and an individual box lunch prepared by food sponsors Sharko’s BBQ and Belgio’s Catering was given to each player while on the course. Jewel-Osco donated 50 prize turkeys for the event.

Players had the option at registration to donate the value of their prize turkey to Operation Support our Troops or to accept the traditional prize turkey. This year, players donated a total of $534.83 to Operation Support Our Troops.
