3 Naperville Businesses Fail Tobacco Compliance Checks: Cops
The three businesses have been cited with selling tobacco or alternative nicotine products to people under the age of 21.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Three Naperville businesses have been cited for selling tobacco or alternative nicotine products to people under the age of 21. The citations come after the Naperville Police Department's March tobacco and alternative nicotine product compliance checks.
The following businesses were issued citations:
- CBD Vape Smoke, 4003 Plainfield-Naperville Rd.
- Speedway, 631 N. Rte. 59
- Murphy Express, 2804 Hassert Blvd.
The citations come after police did compliance checks at 71 businesses throughout Naperville.

Naperville police use grant money from the Illinois Department of Human Services Tobacco Enforcement Program to inform local businesses about local laws regarding age limits for buying tobacco and alternative nicotine products. Police give businesses informational packets and remind them of the importance of verifying a customer's age before selling nicotine products.
Businesses are also informed ahead of time when there is an upcoming compliance check "in the near future," police said.
