50-Year-Old Naperville Man Charged With Assaulting Officer: Police

Officers were responding to an incident at the man's home, according to police

On Thursday, Scott Habiger was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, according to the Naperville Police.

The 50-year-old Naperville man was charged with felony aggravated battery to a peace officer. Officers were responding to an incident at Habiger's home on the 1300 block of Greenfield Court, according to police spokesman Cmdr. Lou Cammiso.

Will County Court records indicate that a woman with the same last name and same address as Habiger filed for divorce and filed for an order of protection against Habiger on the day of the incident. His next court date is April 7.

A Facebook profile that appears to belong to Habiger indicates that he is a former sports writer.

Will County Court records also show that Habiger was found guilty of driving under the influence in 1988 and 2015. He is due in DuPage County Court on April 18 for charges of driving with a suspended license and without insurance in December 2016.
