Aurora Police Seek Public's Help in Finding Man Who Reportedly Shot Cab Driver
The attempted robbery occurred early Tuesday morning according to police

Aurora Police asking the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly shot a taxi driver during a robbery attempt early on Tuesday morning, according to a department press release. Just after midnight, officers responded to the 400 block of Grant Street and located a 49-year-old victim in his taxi with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Police learned that the taxi driver picked up the suspect at a gas station on North and Broadway Avenues. When the cab driver dropped off the man on Grant Street, the suspect "demanded the driver’s money and then shot him in the chest before fleeing the vehicle." During the robbery attempt, the taxi driver crashed into a nearby parked and unoccupied vehicle. Aurora Fire Department Paramedics took the driver to an Aurora hospital.
According to the Aurora police, "the suspect is a dark-skinned male black, possibly in his ‘20’s, about 5’9” to 5’10”, average build with a mustache and possibly a goatee; and he was wearing a white winter cap, blue hooded sweatshirt, black puffy-type jacket, and gray jogging-type pants with a white stripe. The suspect did not get away with any money or valuables." The suspect's photo is included at the top of this article.
