Car Slams Into Home In Naperville: Police

NAPERVILLE, IL — A person is in stable condition after the car they were driving crashed into a Naperville home and caught fire Saturday. The incident took place just before 3:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Edgewater Drive, according to police.

Police say the car ran off the road and crashed into the back of a two-story single-family home. The car then caught fire while the driver was still locked inside and unresponsive.

An officer used their baton to break the window of the vehicle and pull the driver to safety. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The family was able to return to their residence,but fire officials say it's still unclear why the car went off the road.
