Construction Site Fire in Naperville

The fire occurred in townhouses under construction on Ogden Ave.

The Naperville Fire Department responded to a fire at a construction site on the 800 block of Shandrew Drive on Friday, according to a department press release. The call was made at 5:20 a.m. and the first crews arrived at the scene six minutes later.

The fire, on the third floor of a row of townhomes under construction, was quickly extinguished by the 25 responding personnel.

Officials determined that the cause of the fire was a propane heater found on the third floor of the townhouse under construction. According to the release, "Fire units on the scene found two sheets of plywood covering the window had fallen," which made contact with the heater.

The Aurora Fire Department assisted at the fire, and there were no injuries reported.
