Counterfeit $100 Bills: Naperville Police Charge 3 Men

The trio had several counterfeit $100 bills in their possession, according to police

Three men were arrested for allegedly using numerous counterfeit $100 bills at businesses in Naperville, according to police spokesman Cmdr. Lou Cammiso. The men allegedly used the bills at some stores along Route 59. Police were notified and located the suspects on the 700 block of Route 59. When arrested, the trio had several, but less than ten, counterfeit $100 bills in their possession, according to police.

The three accused of passing the fake bills are the following:

The three men are due in DuPage County Court on March 27.

A 2006 government report stated that fewer than 1 in every 10,000 bills of U.S. currency is fake, but that still adds up to an estimated $70 to $200 million.

A charge is only an accusation of a crime, not a finding of guilt.
