Traci and Hugo Fernandez told the Chicago Tribune that they plan to apply for a state license later this year that would allow them to open a dispensary at 1701 Quincy Ave. The facility, called the 3C Compassionate Care Center, would provide marijuana to help patients dealing with pain, as well as funding research conducted by the United Paralysis Foundation, a nonprofit group started and run by the Fernandezes, according to the Tribune.

Even if the couple is granted a license, they still must receive a building permit from the city, the Tribune reports. The Naperville City Council approved regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries late last year, including allowing them to have drive-through windows.
