Curious Hawk Flies Into Naperville Mercedes-Benz Dealership
It was treated and released back into the wild, police said.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Cooper's hawk flew into the window of a the Naperville Mercedes-Benz dealership a few weeks ago, according to Naperville Police. Officials received a call about a hawk in the roadway on Ogden Avenue in front of a car dealership. Later, another call reported that it flew into the dealership's front window and landed on the ground
Animal Control Officer Moran was able to contain the Cooper's hawk in a blanket and was cared for overnight by more animal control officers before being brought to Willowbrook Wildlife Center in Glen Ellyn the following morning. There, it was diagnosed with minor head trauma, police said. The hawk has fully recovered and was released back into the wild.
Cooper's hawks are native to North America. Adult females range in height from 17 - 20 in., and adult males are usually between 14 and 18 inches.

Willowbrook is hosting a "Birds of Prey" event Feb. 11 where anyone ages 7 and up can learn about hawks, falcons and owls. Online registration costs $5. There will be live animal encounters at the event.
