'A Day Without Immigrants Protest': Some Aurora Business Closed
Some restaurants and shops were closed as part of a nationwide protest

Some restaurants and shops in the Aurora area were closed on Thursday as part of the nationwide "Day Without Immigrants" protest, according to the Beacon News.
Some of the closed stores were the following:
- Taqueria El Tio on River Street
- La Central and La Francaise, both bakeries on Galena Boulevard
- La Chiquita, a grocery store at Ashland Ave and South Union Street
- El Palenque, a grocery store on North Farnsworth Avenue
- La Villita Liquors, on East New York Street
- The McDonald's restaurant at Galena Boulevard and Locust Streetd
- Jalapeno Grille, on Route 59 in Naperville
"We are an immigrant owned business and stand in solidarity with our family, friends, employees, and immigrants across the country," was posted on the Facebook page for the Jalapeno Grill.

In Chicago, chef and restaurant owner Rick Bayless announced he would close down four of his restaurants: Frontera Grill, Topolobampo, Xoco and Fonda Frontera. There was also a march in Chicago. Thousands of people gathered in Union Park before marching downtown to Federal Plaza to participate in the strike.
