Fire in Naperville: Two Homes Deemed Uninhabitable

The fire, fed by natural gas, wasn't extinguished until the main gas line was shut off

Just before 11 a.m. on Monday, the Naperville Fire Department received a report of a fire in the attached garage of a home on the 1100 block of Daisy Lane, according to a department press release.

Crews arrived within seven minutes of the call, and they found a heavy fire at a two-story single family home. The fire spread to the attic of a neighboring house and to the deck of a third house.

The main fire was fueled by natural gas, and firefighters requested NICOR to come to the scene to assist. Crews weren't able to extinguish the garage fire until the main gas line was shut off.

Firefighters from Downers Grove Fire, Lisle Fire, Wheaton Fire, Westmont Fire, Warrenville Fire, Bolingbrook Fire, Plainfield Fire, and Oswego Fire assisted in the incident.

The fire was put out within an hour.

There were no injuries reported. The two homes with damage to the garage and the attic were deemed uninhabitable. The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire.
