Fire officials believe fireworks thrown into a recycling bin caused the blaze.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville officials believe discarded fireworks are to blame for a garage fire that started late on the 4th of July. Firefighters responded to a home in the 300 block of Leeds Court around 10:39 p.m. after a resident used an extinguisher to put out the fire, but smoke continued to come from an interior wall, according to a news release from Naperville Fire Department Bureau Chief Jim Kubinski.
Authorities believe fireworks thrown in a recycling bin caused the fire.
Firefighters found fire behind the garage wall and were able to extinguish it within 30 minutes, Kubinski wrote.
