Flooding Closes East, West Branches Of DuPage River In Naperville
The river is closed and recreational boating is prohibited until further notice.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The DuPage River has been closed due to flooding after heavy rains continued throughout the weekend and caused water levels to rise. According to a press release from the Naperville Park District, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources closed the river, which has had "heavy flooding and dangerous conditions" on both its east and west branches.
Naperville Park District officials added that the Naperville Riverwalk and some parks have experienced flooding as well. Parts of the Riverwalk, including pedestrian bridges, will remain closed until the waters recede and residents are advised to stay clear of flooded areas.
Park district crews are currently working to assess damages and perform flood cleanup. In the meantime, recreational boating is also prohibited on the river until further notice.
