Former College of DuPage Radio Employee Pleads Not Guilty on 12 Counts
The Wheaton resident who worked as an engineer at the college radio station appeared in court to enter his plea Monday.

John Valenta, 65, of Wheaton, pleaded not guilty Monday to a dozen counts felony charges of theft and forgerty related to fraudulent billing at the school’s radio station, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.
He was indicted on the charges April 9.
“Valenta, who is free on bond, worked for more than 30 years as an engineer at the college radio station, WDCB-FM 90.9. Authorities allege that over a seven-year period beginning in 2006, he billed the school more than $200,000 through a company he owned called Broadcast Technologies for parts and labor on station equipment,” The Tribune reported.

He will next appear in court on June 1 for a status hearing.
