Girls’ spring softball registration begins January 28

The Naperville Park District’s spring softball program for girls in grades 3-9 is opening registration for the 2020 season earlier this year to allow participants more time to plan ahead. Registration for Naperville Park District residents begins Tuesday, January 28 at noon and nonresident registration on Thursday, January 30 at noon. Softball teams will begin practice the week of April 13-May 1 and games will be scheduled from May 4 to the end of June, weather permitting.

Volunteer coaches and assistant coaches are needed for each team, and parents are encouraged to fill these roles, with online resources and an introductory coaches meeting provided.

“We have many parents who enjoy coaching their daughter’s team,” said Program Manager Fred Gusel. “Volunteering as an assistant coach is a great way to start.”

Times and practice locations for teams at each grade level can be found in the Winter Program Guide at www.napervilleparks.org/programguides and online registration will be available at www.napervilleparks.org. Registration for girls’ and co-ed Coach Pitch, T-Ball and Machine Pitch baseball programs will take place in March following the February 26 release of the Spring Program Guide. Girls softball registration will continue until the program begins as long as openings remain and girls’ softball registration information will be included in the Spring Program Guide.
