Gummies Contained Cannabis: Naperville Police Conclude Investigation On Incident At High School
Four minors are suspected of distributing the gummies that sent several students to the hospital.
Naperville police have determined that gummies distributed at Naperville North High School contained cannabis, according to a department press release. On Dec. 6, 2016, police were called to the school when several students fell ill after eating gummy candies. Fourteen students were transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Four minors were accused of delivering a substance containing cannabis. Their cases are being processed through the juvenile court system. The four individuals include two 17-year-old males, one 16-year-old male and one 14-year-old female. Another 16-year-old male was cited for possession of cannabis.
Police want to notify the public that the candies "were NOT store bought and appear to have been homemade." Authorities said there is no threat from store-bought candy in relation to this incident.
