Halloween Weekend Arrests During DUI Crackdown Campaign: Police

Naperville's DUI 'Click It or Ticket' results for Halloween weekend have been released.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Four impaired driving arrests were made during a Halloween "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign. Two dozen citations for seat belts and child safety were made in that time, too. Nationally, DUI arrests are at their highest between Thanksgiving and New Year's weekend. Not taking any chances, local law enforcement agencies warned drivers of the "aggressive" campaign leading up to Halloween weekend.

The DUI crackdown began Friday, Oct. 27 and lasted through the early morning hours of Tuesday, Nov. 1. According to a press release from the Naperville Police Department, extra attention was given to late night hours, when the chances of unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur the most. Extra personnel was paid for by federal highway safety funds administered by the state's Department of Transportation.
