Job Cuts At Edward Hospital Will Help Reduce Costs
Naperville's Edward Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavior Health will see job loss and unfilled positions in order to ensure their futures.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Edward-Elmhurst Health has cut 234 jobs to reduce costs by $50 million. Edward- Elmhurt operates Edward Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, both in Naperville. According to the Daily Herald, 84 of those jobs are currently filled and the rest will not be filled.
In a statement from spokesman Keith Hartenberger Wednesday, those employees have received severance packages and "comprehensive outplacement services." He also told Patch that he cannot release any information on how many or what types of layoffs are taking place at each location.
That statement said it was a difficult decision, but necessary to ensure the future of the group. According to its website, Edward-Elmhurst Health has dozens of health centers and immediate care facilities throughout the western suburbs, including one in Yorkville, one in Oswego and several along the Naperville/Aurora Route 59 corridor.
