Little Change In New Coronavirus Case Numbers In Naperville: DCHD

Since March 2020, the DuPage County portion of Naperville has seen 7,335 coronavirus cases.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Naperville has risen by 148 cases in the past eight days in DuPage County, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). Those numbers are similar to the previous week, which saw an increase of 174 coronavirus cases.

As of April 20, there had been 7,187 cases reported in the DuPage County portion of Naperville. The total number of cases reported in Naperville as of April 28 was 7,335 per DCHD, reflecting a weekly increase of just over 2 percent. The previous week's increase was also just over 2 percent.

DCHD recently began sharing the number of probable coronavirus cases in each municipality. In Naperville, there have been 1,073 probable coronavirus cases since March 2020. Including probable cases, the total coronavirus case count for Naperville is at 8,408.

There have been a total of 137 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths and 16 probable coronavirus deaths in Naperville since DCHD began tracking coronavirus statistics.

As of April 20, nearby Lisle had reported 1,828 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 1,850 as of April 20.

In Lisle, there have been 177 probable coronavirus cases since March 2020, according to county health records. With probable cases included, the total case count for Lisle is 2,027.

Lisle saw no additional coronavirus deaths in the past week. To date, there have been a total of 31 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths and two probable coronavirus deaths in the village, DCHD reports.

The risk of coronavirus transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
