Middle School Student Carries Knife Onto Bus in Naperville
The Hill Middle School student had a pocketknife.

No students were injured, but one is being disciplined for bringing a pocketknife onto a bus on Friday, according to the Daily Herald.
Hill Middle School Principal Mike Dutdut told parents in a recorded message that no children were harmed or threatened in the incident. Other students reported the knife to school staff, who in turn contacted the Naperville Police.
Police spokesman Cmdr. Jason Arres said the school would handle all discipline and follow-up from the incident.

According to the Indian Prairie School District 204 Parent-Student Handbook, students can be expelled for one to two years for using a knife to threaten or harm someone.
Illinois state law prohibits the possession of switchblade knives, which open at the press of a button, but there is no age or other restriction for carrying regular pocketknives.
