New City Council Ethics Proposal

Naperville City Councilwoman Theresa Sullivan has proposed some new ethics rules for the Naperville City Council. On Tuesday, December 15 the City Council is expected to vote on whether or not to adopt the proposed ordinance.
Last month Councilwoman Sullivan spoke about her proposal with the League of Women Voters of Naperville; you can watch here. The proposed ordinance would require council members who have received campaign contributions of more than $500 from a donor to publicly disclose that information when discussing an agenda item in which the donor is an interested party. Councilwoman Sullivan commented, “I think the transparency allows for us to make our own decision, but also for the public to have the same data we do.”
HERE IS WHERE YOU COME IN: speak up! Our elected officials are not mind readers; they do not know how you feel about something unless you contact them! Make your voice heard!
