Naperville BYOB Liquor License Vote Set To Take Place Thursday
O'Brien's Pedal Pub has requested a BYOB liquor license, which is uncharted territory for Naperville.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville's Liquor Commission will vote Nov. 9 on whether to grant a BYOB liquor license to Pedal Pub, a 15-person mobile drinking "bar" where participants sit on two benches, facing each other, and pedal to move the vehicle in which they sit. The Daily Herald reported last month that the Mayor and Liquor Commissioner, Steve Chirico, told the O'Brien's Pedal Pub owner that he didn't have enough information at the time. The city has been weighing the request before taking it to a vote this week.
Naperville has a history of playing it conservatively when it comes to liquor laws. The Herald reported that the city's legal counsel said it would review whether or not the mobile pub would even need a BYOB liquor license. Thursday's meeting starts at 3 p.m. in the council chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
