Naperville Homeowners Can Get Incentive For Smart Thermostat

Naperville homeowners have a chance to get a $50 credit for installing and using a smart thermostat.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville electric utility officials have started a new program to help encourage energy conservation throughout the city. Homeowners will receive a $50 rebate from the city if they buy and install a smart thermostat after May 1.

The rebate will come in the form of a credit to your utility bill. Once the information is verified and processed, consumers will see the credit within two months, according to Naperville city spokesperson Kate Schultz.

The incentives are funded by a $25,000 grant from Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) and the rebate offer is only effective while those funds are still available. The $50 rebate is limited to one per household, Schultz added in a news release.
