Naperville Man Charged With DUI After Crash Injures Woman: Cops
A Glen Ellyn woman sustained serious injuries in the crash, which took place Sunday.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man faces multiple charges after police say he was driving under the influence during a crash that took place Sunday on Naper Boulevard and left a Glen Ellyn woman, 55, seriously injured. Bakari M. Diaby, 22, was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane usage, failure to reduce speed and driving an uninsured motor vehicle in connection with the crash.
According to police, Diaby was driving a Honda CRV south on Naper Boulevard just before 7 p.m. when the car crossed the double yellow lane dividers and hit a Nissan Altima that was driving north on Naper Boulevard. The Glen Ellyn woman driving the Nissan Altima was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police say.
Diaby was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries and was later charged.

Members of the Naperville Traffic Unit were at the scene investigating and reconstructing the crash until about 12:30 a.m., when Naper Boulevard was reopened.
