Naperville Man Helps Transform Boy's Wheelchair Into Epic Costume
Magic Wheelchair volunteer teamed up with Aurora Police to transform a teen's wheelchair for Halloween.
AURORA, IL — A volunteer with Magic Wheelchair helped 15-year-old Roberto fulfill his Halloween costume dreams this past week. Roberto has cerebral palsy, which requires him to be in a wheelchair, but that didn't stop him from having the coolest costume on the block. Last week, an Aurora Community Policing Officer Jason Woolsey was introduced to the boy, who wanted to transform his chair into a SWAT vehicle for Halloween.
The officer teamed up with Chris Weithers, a volunteer in Naperville who works with Magic Wheelchair. Magic Wheelchair is an organization that specializes in making epic costumes for kids in wheelchairs.
Roberto's was a replica of the APD Special Response Team armored Bear Cat with working lights. He debuted his new ride at Hope D. Wall's Halloween Party, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department.
