NAPERVILLE, IL — If you or your kids have always wanted to learn martial arts, but you didn't have the time or funds to do so, one Naperville martial arts school is ready to change that for you. Master Chang Hyun An, director of American Martial Arts in Naperville is offering free online classes during the coronavirus shutdown.

Master An told Patch it's their way of giving back to the community to "overcome this uncertain time together." Master An added, "I wanted to provide our training service and resources to our community to have everyone stay active and keep up with exercises to have a regular routine."

Classes are available for anyone age 4 through adult. Here's a look at the online class schedule for April 6 through 11. Future class schedules will be posted on the American Martial Arts Facebook page.

  1. Download the Zoom app
  2. Check the online class schedule (see above)
  3. Send a message to American Martial Arts Naperville to get the link

  • Safe workout space (preferably 6 feet by 6 feet) that is not too slippery or hard
  • Focus kicking pad or other tools if you have them
  • Tae Kwon Do uniform if you have it
  • Zoom app

Master An, who has offered classes in Naperville for more than 10 years told Patch of the free class initiative, " If this is helpful to others who are in our community, I would be happy."
