Naperville Mayor Wants Public Wi-Fi Downtown

Mayor Chirico mentioned the idea during his state of the city address

On Monday, Mayor Steve Chirico outlined his vision for the future of the Naperville at the state of the city address on Monday, according to the Daily Herald. The event was hosted by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce at the Embassy Suites hotel.

Chirico said he wants to develop an "outdoor internet office park" along the Riverwalk. The space would have wi-fi and power outlets for mobile workers who wish to work outside. He also spoke about developing two vacant Dominick's grocery stores, the shopping areas on East Ogden Avenue and the eight-acre lot near the 5th Avenue Metra station.

"It's a tall order," Chirico said according to the Daily Herald. "But I believe the answer will come through innovation and being willing to think outside the box."
