Naperville Offers Grants To Aid Small Businesses Amid Pandemic
Qualifying businesses can get up to $5,000 to help with payroll, rent or other expenses.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The city of Naperville recently announced it will issue a round of grants to aid small businesses in the midst of the ongoing pandemic. The Naperville Small Business Assistance Grant is making a total of $100,000 available to small businesses in need via the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Qualifying businesses can get a grant of up to $5,000 to help with payroll, rent or mortgage costs, personal protective equipment or other pandemic-related expenses.
To apply for the grants, a business must:

- Be open and operating in Naperville city limits with a valid Naperville certificate of occupancy
- Be owned by a U.S. citizen or legal resident
- Employ 50 or fewer people
- Have annual revenue of less than $2 million in 2019
- Be able to document a negative impact of the pandemic on business income
Grant recipients will be chosen via a lottery. Applications open Nov. 12 at 12 p.m. and close Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. Click the link for more information and to complete a small business grant application.
“The City of Naperville has found ways to help small businesses throughout this pandemic, including by implementing a moratorium on utility shutoffs and granting a six-month reprieve on liquor license renewals,” Mayor Steve Chirico said in a news release. "This new grant funding provides another form of support to our small businesses as they do their very best during these challenging times to stay afloat."
