Naperville Park District Senior Programs Resume June 7

After more than a year of being closed due to the pandemic, Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center (ARRCC) is reopening on Monday, June 7 for the weekday drop-in programs for seniors that so many have enjoyed.

“We have missed everyone so much and are happy to announce that many of our senior programs are back,” said Program Manager Lorraine Ouellette.

Naperville Park District provides many recreation options for those over 50, including the free, drop-in programs hosted at the ARRCC, affordable recreation programs designed for seniors, and any adult program published in the quarterly Program Guide. Over the past year, some of the senior programs have been held outdoors or virtually and will continue to be offered in these formats, while indoor, in-person programs will be added. The current summer lineup of programs can be found at www.napervilleparks.org/programguides.

Beginning the week of June 7, the following senior drop-in programs will take place at the ARRCC:

• Mondays-Canasta and Walking Club
• Tuesdays-Woodcarving, Painting, and Pinochle
• Wednesdays-Bunco
• Thursdays- Cribbage and Social Bridge; Book Club meets monthly, beginning June 17
• Fridays-Dominoes, Pinochle and Mahjong

Additionally, the game room will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for access to the computers, the book exchange, Ping Pong, pool and billiards.
