Naperville Podcast Will Interview Golfer, Beekeeper & Hockey Mom
The city podcast will feature stories and insight on the Park District's budget, events, partnerships and more.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville Park District is kicking off its new podcast, ParkTalk, in February. It's a way for residents to connect more with the park district and the community, according to a press release. Episodes will present stories, insights and information. The podcast is also accessible through a mobile-friendly website.
“Our residents are busy and active, accessing more and more information from their phones,” explained Sameera Luthman, director of marketing and communications. “Podcasts are becoming popular among teens and adults as an on-demand, downloadable form of radio [...]."
ParkTalk will include interviews with commissioners and staff about organic park maintenance products, events, partnerships and budget issues. Producers of the podcast plan to invite listeners to ask questions, too.

Examples of future episode themes include golf, earth week and sports & recreation trends. The park district has booked a nationally certified golf fitness trainer, a beekeeper and a Naperville field hockey mom and coach to speak in the series. An introduction to ParkTalk is available online.
The theme for the first episode is "The State of the Naperville Park District." Over the past several years, the Park District has addressed an audience between 70 and 90 people with the topic. Now, it will bring the information to a wider audience.
