NAPERVILLE, IL — A “nuisance” pig that’s been wandering around the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve was shot and killed Thursday.

According to a report from the Daily Herald, the pig was killed by a hunter from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“The Illinois Nature Preserves Commission really wanted this to be resolved and to remove the animal because of the damage it could cause," Forest Preserve District Ecologist Brian Kraskiewicz told the paper. "It was a very serious matter."
