Obituary: Chad Jerome Miller

A member of the Teamsters Union Local #179 passes away at the age of 48.

Chad Jerome Miller

Age 48, of Shorewood, passed away suddenly Sunday, February 28, 2021at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN and formerly of Naperville and Plainfield, residing in Shorewood since 2008. Chad graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora with the class of 1991. He was employed by M. D. Miller Trucking and Topsoil of Plainfield since 1994 and a member of the Teamsters Union Local #179.

Chad was an official for U.S. Roller Speed Skating for the past four years. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Cathy (Gasior) Miller of Shorewood; daughter, Paige Miller and son, Colton Miller both of Shorewood; his mother, Marlene Miller of Shorewood; maternal grandmother, Donata Raebig of Joliet; aunt, Diana (Edward) Tapper; two uncles, Frank (Alyssa) Roose and Douglas Raebig; sister-in-law, Lori (Tom) Carr; brother-in-law, Tony (Deb) Gasior; sister-in-law, Andrea (Jaca) Gasior; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends including his best friend, Rick Crownhart.

Chad is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Raebig.

Visitation for Chad Jerome Miller will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd, Joliet, 60431, on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. and will continue Monday, March 8, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet at 11:30 a.m. As it was Chad’s wish, cremation rites will be accorded following Mass.
