NAPERVILLE, IL — The Ogden 6 Theatres will close its doors for good Sunday after more than 40 years in Naperville. The company announced the upcoming closure on Facebook on May 29.

The news comes as a Naperville's second Costco store plans to occupy the Ogden Mall location.

In the post on Facebook, Ogden 6 wrote, "It has been wonderful to be part of the Naperville community since we took the theatre over in 1996. The community support we've received since the closure was announced and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been heartwarming and encouraging. We are still looking at other locations to take this theatre, but don't have any news to share yet."

Customers still have a chance to get popcorn and snacks from Ogden 6 Theatres through Sunday. You can click the link to place an order for popcorn or other goodies for curbside pickup. Available hours are Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Customers and fans of the theater are also invited to share their favorite photos and memories of Ogden 6 Theatres. The theater thanked customers for the "outpouring of support and well wishes."

Dozens of customers responded to the call for memories, with many saying they saw their first movie at the Ogden 6 Theatres. At press time, the theater's owners had personally responded to nearly every message.
