Pedestrian Killed in Warrenville

Police have not identified the individual who was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night

An adult pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on route 59 in Warrenville on Tuesday, according to the Daily Herald.

The crash occurred about just before 6:3o p.m. A pedestrian was crossing Route 59 from west to east near a crosswalk at Meadow Ave. Police said the individual was crossing against a red light. A northbound vehicle struck the person, who later died at a hospital.

Police said the traffic lights were reported to be functioning at the time of the incident, and they have not issued any citations.
