Security at Naperville Christkindlmarket Increased After Attack in Germany
No threats have been made against the Christmas market in Naperville, but police and staff aren't taking any chances

Security at the Christkindlmarket at the Naper Settlement in Naperville increased after a truck plowed into a Christmas market and killed nine people in Berlin, Germany on Monday.
"We've taken extra precautions for the next couple of days but there is no indication that there is any concern," Emma Vodick, the public relations and social media coordinator for the Naper Settlement, said in a phone interview on Tuesday.
There has been a police presence at the market throughout the season, but Vodick said the police presence increased immedately following the attack in Germany.

"We've increased security and added patrols", Naperville Commander Jason Arres said in a phone conversation on Thursday evening.
Security at the Christkindlmarket in downtown Chicago also increased following the attack in Germany.

The Christkindlmarket in Naperville will be open until 9 p.m. on Friday, and it will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
