1 Hurt In Naperville Shooting: Police

Police say the suspect is still at large, but is believed to have left the area.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A person was injured in a shooting in the 600 block of Route 59 in Naperville Saturday evening.

The incident occurred just after 5:30 p.m., according to a public notification from the Naperville Police Department. Police say a person with a valid Illinois Concealed Carry license fired their gun at the suspect, which prompted the suspect to flee.

The suspect is still at large, but police say they do not believe there is a threat to the public because the suspect left the area and police believe the shooting was targeted.

The person who was shot was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, according to Naperville Police Department spokesperson Michaus Williams. As of Monday, Williams told Patch the person who was shot is in stable condition. Gunfire also hit a nearby car with a person in it, but that person was not harmed.
