Tollway To Host Kids Safety Event At DuPage Children's Museum
The free event will include child safety seat inspections, a touch-a-truck display, and more.
NAPERVILLE, IL — The Illinois Tollway will host a kids' safety event at DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville Saturday. The Kids' Identification and Safety Seat (K.I.S.S.) event will include free car seat inspections, a touch-a-truck display, and other safety tips for young children.
Certified technicians will be on hand to help parents make sure they are using child safety seats properly. The technicians will inspect your car seat and make sure it's the right size and is adjusted properly to keep your child as safe as possible while you're driving.
Kids ages three and older can get I.D. cards made at the K.I.S.S. event. The cards, which include personal information, a photograph, and other info, are helpful for parents and other adults in case of an emergency.

A touch-a-truck display will be set up to give kids something fun to explore during the event. Kids can climb aboard a snowplow and a H.E.L.P. truck, which the tollway uses for roadside assistance.
In a statement, Illinois Tollway Executive Director Jose Alvarez said, "K.I.S.S. events make staying safe quick and convenient for parents, grandparents and caregivers and fun for kids." The event is part of the tollway's Operation Kid 2019, an ongoing effort to promote proper child safety seat usage.
