In Memoriam: James Rayson, 29, Beloved Friend and Father of 2

A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 9.

James J. Rayson, 29, of New Lenox, died December 5, tragically and suddenly. He was born June 10, 1987, the son of James and Maria (Torrence) Rayson. James graduated from Lincoln-Way Central High School in 2005. He also attended Nicolet Community College in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and Joliet Junior College. Since 2005 James worked in various trades, primarily as a carpenter. He was currently in business with his brother, Christopher Rayson, remodeling houses. James is survived by his parents Jim and Maria, his brother Chris, his daughter Jianna, his son Jackson, his nephew Louis, and his niece Kaya.

Jimmy, as many of his friends called him, was extremely personable and well-liked by all. He was handsome, happy and popular. He made friends with people of all different backgrounds and walks of life. Jim was easy to talk to, non-judgmental, and always there for his family or a friend in need. His heart was huge, especially for his two young children ages 4 and 2. He literally loved his kids more than life itself. Jimmy had many talents, hobbies and ambitions. He was a fine craftsman, fisherman and salesman. He loved music, especially his favorite band of all time, Public Property. Throughout both his childhood and adulthood Jimmy had many of his best memories at his family's summer cabin on White Sand Lake in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. A life gone too soon, James will always be remembered and held in the hearts of the many people who loved him.

A memorial service is being held at the American Legion in New Lenox on Friday, Dec. 9 from 5 to 10 p.m. James's remains are being cremated. A portion of his ashes will go into a biodegradable urn planter from which a tree will grow. Jimmy's tree of life will grown on his family's property in Lac du Flambeau, WI overlooking White Sand Lake.
