New Lenox Fire District to Lay Wreaths at Veterans' Graves

The Village and fire department are participating in the Wreaths Across America, and need your help to reach their goal.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) and Village of New Lenox are honoring the nation’s veterans through the Wreaths Across America campaign. They will be sponsoring wreaths to be placed at the Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.

The Abraham Lincoln Cemetery has 43,000 grave sites. Unfortunately, each year not every gravesite receives a wreath.

This year, the NLFPD and Village are hoping to provide 1,800 wreaths to cover one section of the cemetery on National Wreaths Across America Day, Dec. 17.
