13-Year-Old Driver Returned Home After Crashing Car: Police

The teen who fled west suburban police several times in a borrowed car crashes it in Palos Park, police say.

PALOS PARK, IL — A 13-year-old girl was found near a damaged car that police said she had taken without permission early Saturday morning in Palos Park.

The young teen was seen walking on around a residential property near 123rd Street and Wolf Road just before 2 a.m. An alert resident called 911.

Officers found a damaged car off the road that had been reported stolen on Friday in Glen Ellyn. The officers found the 13-year-old girl walking around, who police said was driving the car.

Palos Park police learned that the teen had fled from police in the western suburbs several times. The teen and the car had been reported missing on Friday. Officers worked with local police to get the girl returned home.

The car was secured and towed. Glen Ellyn police would not provide additional information, stating it was a juvenile matter.
