3 Women Accused in Palos Home Invasion

One young man was shot dead by the homeowner, and another man remains hospitalized. Bail for the three women was set at $2 million.

Cook County, IL — A group of young friends from Indiana — two men and three women — are accused of trying to break into a Palos-area home on Tuesday, an attempt that went terribly wrong for them as the armed homeowner shot the two young men, one fatally.

The man who died was carrying a knife, according to the Cook County sheriff.

Now, the four survivors are charged with first-degree murder and home invasion. Three young women appeared in court Thursday. Two of the women are sisters.

Brandy Marshall, 19, Paige Marshall, 20, and Sarah Risner, 20, are being held on $2 million bail each. They are due back in the Bridgeview Courthouse on Aug. 3.

Tyler Gulli, in a Facebook profile photo, is in an Oak Lawn hospital being treated for a broken leg caused by a gunshot.

Tyler Gulli, 23, was shot and wounded by the homeowner. Gulli is hospitalized and will appear in bond court after he is released. Gulli, at some point, attended Bremen High School in Midlothian, according to his Facebook page. He now lists his residence as Portage, Indiana.

Anthony Dalton, 19, of Cedar Lake, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.

On Tuesday, July 5, at about 10:30 p.m., Sheriff’s Police responded to a reported home invasion on the 11000 block of West 118th Street in Palos Park. The victim informed patrol officers that the offenders forced their way into his residence and were displaying a knife.

The victim, who has a valid Firearm Owner Identification card and a Concealed Carry license, told police he fired his handgun at the intruders, fatally striking one and wounding another.

The man had invited two of the women to his home for an arranged sex tryst.

A south suburban man thought he was going to pay for a night of sex with two young moms from Indiana, but the women had hatched a plan to bring along their friends and rob him.

Police learned the identities of the other suspects from one of the women who emerged from a wooded area
surrounding the home. The other two fled the area in a car and were caught in Markham on Interstate 80. The wounded man was taken into custody at Palos Community Hospital.

The accused all live in Northwest Indiana.
