5K Run/Walk, L'il Pumpkin Dash Set At Moraine Valley On Halloween

Mask up, dress in costume and bring your little goblins to the family 5K run/walk Oct. 31 at Moraine Valley Community College.

PALOS HILLS, IL —Dress up with the kids, bring masks and head to the seventh annual Halloween 5K run/walk on starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.

Participants can walk or run the 5K (3.1 mile) loop around campus and will be sent off in waves. Until the race begins, everyone must wear a face mask; costume masks do not count. Details about running virtually are being worked out and will be posted to the website when they are available. All pre-registered participants receive a T-shirt. Costumes are encouraged.

Runners/walkers can sign their children up for the Little Pumpkin’s Patch, a free family social distanced area open during and after the race that includes pumpkin decorating, a Kid’s Dash race and other Halloween activities. Kids, and any adults, must wear masks to participate.

Registration is $40 for community members and $30 for Moraine Valley students/employees Registration on Oct. 31 is $45 for community members and $35 for Moraine Valley students/employees. Anyone who wants to register their child for the Pumpkin’s Patch must be signed up for the race.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Moraine Valley Foundation, which provides scholarships to students. Sign up for the Moraine Valley Halloween 5K online.
